About elfsend

elfsend is a boutique game design studio founded by Peter Nichols in 2023. We create video games and playful digital experiences that explore musical ecosystems, speculative futures, and nonhuman perspectives.

Our work blends engaging gameplay, emergent systems, and experimental storytelling to create experiences that challenge conventional narratives and invite players to see the world through different eyes.

elfsend has shown work at SXSW, Tokyo Game Show, Sandbox Immersive Festival, and more. They are a current member of NEW INC, the New Museum's cultural incubator.

Our Approach

We believe in making games that are thoughtful, weird, and (crucially) fun. Our projects typically start with questions that turn into worlds: How would an unearthed puddle of oil respond to the climate crisis? What does a human life look like from the perspective of its micobiome? What other stories emerge when we step outside human-centered narratives?

We work across platforms and formats—from browser experiments to feature-length desktop games, to VR experiences, to mobile apps and integrated digital ecosystems.

Studio

elfsend is based in Los Angeles. We work with collaborators across disciplines including artists, musicians, writers, and technologists to bring our projects to life.
